Rosario transferring to Florida

Rutgers Scarlet Knights guard Mike Rosario has announced that he will transfer to the Florida Gators.

It’s a tough hit for Rutgers after losing their head coach to also lose the team’s leading scorer.

Rosario said he is really excited about joining the Gators and that it is a completely different atmosphere.

The star guard was particularly impressed with head coach Billy Donovan and his success at the school.

Rosario can practice with Florida next year but cannot play in games. He believes the year off will allow him to really improve his game.

Hill resigns from Rutgers

Rutgers Scarlet Knights head coach Fred Hill has resigned after a controvery-filled couple of weeks.

Hill reached a financial settlement with the school and opted to resign rather than draw this thing out.

The university was unahppy with Hill for a number of reasons, most recently his actions at the school’s baseball games.

Hill’s father is the coach of the baseball team, and the basketball coach was seen several times yelling at opposing teams.

The school asked Hill to stop attending baseball games, but the coach ignored those requests.

Rutgers stuns Georgetown, 71-68

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights pulled off their biggest win of the year with a 71-68 upset of the No. 7 Georgetown Hoyas.

Jonathan Mitchell led the way for RutgersĀ with 24 points, which was a career-high for him.

It was also three more points than he scored in the team’s 25-point loss to the Hoyas earlier in the year.

Mitchell said the team took the game as a personal challenge after being embarassed earlier in the year by the Hoyas.

Rutgers simply came out and played with more intensity with the Hoyas, and you can see the result.
